Lisa is highly regarded among progressives and for achieving bipartisan compromise while maintaining strong relationships with congressional and executive branch leaders across the political spectrum. Lisa is quietly formidable, and her success stems from her credibility as a whip-smart straight shooter who is laser-focused on results.

Lisa brings extensive legislative and policy experience on Capitol Hill and in the executive branch. Lisa most recently served as the Chief Counsel for the House Financial Services Committee under Chairwoman Maxine Waters (D-CA). As Chief Counsel, Lisa was the Chairwoman’s go-to advisor on financial services policy, process, and politics. She managed Committee markups, hearings, and floor activity, shaping policy and guiding Members and staff through the complexities. Lisa not only developed and executed the Committee’s legislative agenda; she also oversaw the Committee’s Member services and legislative operations.

Lisa began her service on the Committee as Counsel on the Housing and Insurance Subcommittee and continued to serve as the policy lead on insurance matters. Lisa was instrumental in drafting several key pieces of banking and insurance legislation.

Prior to working in Congress, Lisa served at the Department of Housing and Urban Development in the Federal Housing Administration where she worked in the Single Family Office.

Lisa is a cum laude graduate of the George Washington University Law School. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florida where she was elected as a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
